HIMALAYAN MOTORCYCLE TOURS IN INDIA
our adventures
giant leap motorcycle tours
global team.
Giant Leap takes passion from three corners of the world. Father and son Mark and Ben Van Leewarden hail from New Zealand, Gavin Peaco from Ireland and Avikal Thakur from North India.
This is no ordinary motorcycling experience we are offering, and we are no ordinary tour company. We are the friendliest, most knowledgeable and passionate team in the business.
Experiencing a Giant Leap Tour takes you back to the camaraderie, friendship and feelings of your youth. Taking these road trips in India's breathtaking nature is truly life-affirming.
Local Expertise.
Our mission is to blend local expertise with professional western business practices.
Abu is our partner in India, he's been involved with Himalayan motorcycle tours for over 3-years and knows India's back roads inside out. Abu is a keen photographer; he'll ensure you go home with a few great snaps.
Each tour is carefully crafted with months of planning to ensure that you get the most out of your motorcycle holiday.
Culture and Charity.
When overseas we tend to learn more about our own country rather than the place we are visiting. By experiencing India you become modest, seeing the tiny space that we occupy in the world.
Our motorcycle tours in India include UNESCO sites, live music, ancient temples, charity offerings, private tours and meetings with renowned locals, from headhunters to tea farmers.
Top motorcycles
We are one the first tour operators in India to offer KTM 390 Adventure, at over 43 hp and a seat height of 85cm, it’s a great option for touring. You can also ride the iconic Royal Enfield Himalayan in its namesake region.
All tours tackle varying terrain from the deserts of Rajasthan to Khardung La Pass, the world's highest motorable road.
We have a mechanic with us for every trip, giving you peace of mind that your motorbike is serviced at the end of every riding day.
Twin or single rooms are available on our motorcycle adventures. From 5 star hotels after you arrive in Delhi to Kashmiri houseboats - all of the accommodation is full of character.
Support Vehicles
Central Asia is home to the highest mountains in the world. That means high-altitude mountain passes, challenges, and unexpected events.
Our motorbike tours always have at least one support vehicle that riders can travel in for a rest or if they're unwell.
The fully-equipped support vehicle includes an extensive medical kit, spare parts and space for all luggage. A doctor and expert mechanic ride in the support vehicle for each tour.

about GIANT LEAP
Mark, Ben and Gavin first met Abu while riding in Tibet. The friendship kick-started with a shared passion for adventure, freedom and the headspace only motorcycling can offer.
Over the years, we have ridden all over the world, but there's something unique that only India can offer. The rich history, stunning scenery and rugged roads makes this country a motorcycle adventurer's dream destination.
Our mission
We called our business Giant Leap because once you land on the other side, a whole new world opens up to you. You make lifelong friends and experience adventure with like-minded people. Here’s our three pillars:
Motorcycling hasn’t been understood until you’re above the clouds on a dirt road atop the Himalayan mountains. You leave behind petty rules, and a world gone mad.
Camaraderie has a greater meaning when you share the discovery of new cultures and lands — and when you get a flat tire in the middle of the Great Indian Desert and your new-found friends are by your side.
These tours are about creating a sense of achievement and doing what most people on the planet wouldn’t even dare to.
